Dina Pavlis has lived and played on the Oregon Coast for over 20 years. She is an avid hiker, outdoor enthusiast, and nature photographer.
She is the producer and host of the syndicated community radio show "Beyond Your Front Door," a coastal adventure guide that airs weekly on the West Coast.
As a volunteer interpretive ranger with the U.S. Forest Service, she has provided talks, guided walks, and hikes in the Central Coast region.
She is author of the book, "Secrets of the Oregon Dunes," and has the ability to deliver the story of the dunes in a way that is exciting, understandable and engaging for people of all ages.
Dina has been featured on Oregon Public Broadcasting's "Think Out Loud" and NPR's "All Things Considered," "Oregon Grapevine" and "Outside/In." She has appeared in articles for the BBC, National Geographic, and Smithsonian Magazine. She is a Road Scholar featured presenter."
She is an Oregon Coast Quests builder, volunteers for KXCR Community Radio, and is a member of the Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative, a group of stakeholders and community volunteers working together to save the Oregon dunes.

A few years ago, I started looking for a project that would allow me to share my love of the Oregon Coast. I wanted other people to experience the beautiful areas I loved.
Additionally, Florence is a diverse community that, like other communities, has struggled during a politically charged time in our nation. My hope was to produce a show that brings to light the reasons we all love living here and to share that we have much more in common compared to our political differences.
These two goals led me to start my radio show with its series of Oregon Coast interviews, which has since expanded to the Pacific Northwest Coast. My goal is to create a show that’s fun, makes people feel good, and is without political discourse. It’s been an exciting adventure, meeting many wonderful people and learning incredible things along the way.
Twenty years ago, we were living in the Seattle area. Our daughter was close to graduating from high school. My commute to downtown Seattle had gone from 25 minutes to over an hour. I knew I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life doing that.

After visiting the Oregon Coast and seeing the dunes, I said to my husband, “What do you think about moving to Florence? Because I want to walk on those dunes every day.” He loved the idea. So we put a five-year plan in place.
My first day living in Florence (summer 2004), I drove to the Forest Service office in Reedsport and said, “I want to volunteer on the dunes.” It was the beginning of a wonderful adventure in my life that continues today.
